Once upon a time, I played classical piano, and well. Chopin was my undoing. Perhaps that's why I'm somewhat obsessed with these Nocturnes, which include some of the most difficult pieces to play. The dedication it would have taken for me to not just learn them but to play them in manner worthy of him was too much for me, at the time.
It stands to say that it's always been in the back of my mind to return to it, should I suddenly find myself with the drive to do so.
It's long, if listened to in full. Opuses 48 start at 1:03 and helped inspire a short story on my other blog, kala.bdsmlr.com.
Until I get to return to the keys, Chopin will continue to be known as "that prick".
